MPP Fullerton launches Shop Local Campaign for Holiday Season

support our local business community.”
In making your Christmas purchases, Kanata-Carleton MPP Merrilee Fullerton is urging Ottawa residents to support their local business community. With Black Friday and Cyber Monday only days away, the MPP has launched her annual awareness campaign that will run through the holiday season: Shop Local and Support Our Community.
Dr. Fullerton says, “I hope everyone will think twice about their gift purchases and support Kanata and West Carleton businesses through Christmas and the holidays. Shop at your local retail store, eat or order out from a neighbourhood restaurant, visit a nearby entertainment establishment and, when shopping online, please consider making that purchase from a local business.”
“Shopping local provides employment for local people, carries the expenses of the store, and your money remains in the community,” explains the MPP. She adds, “This Christmas especially, I ask everyone to make a conscious effort to support our local business community.”
Through the months of November and December, MPP Fullerton’s office is profiling a “Shop Local” campaign in Kanata and West Carleton and promoting an awareness campaign in the MPP Report Newsletter, with her Community Comment column and on her MPP Facebook page.
The MPP also collaborates within the business networks of the Kanata North Business Association, Kanata Central, Carp Road, and the Carp Village BIAs, and the Ottawa Board of Trade to support their buy local awareness efforts.
