Re-elected MPP Merrilee Fullerton: “It is an honour to serve.”
June 3, 2022 / KANATA-CARLETON — Dr. Merrilee Fullerton, the PC candidate for Kanata-Carleton and senior minister in the Ontario Government, was re-elected in a convincing fashion, winning 44 per cent of the votes cast and outdistancing her closest rival by more than 8,400.
“I want to thank the people of Kanata and West Carleton for their vote of confidence in me,” said Fullerton in her victory speech. “Our local campaign was a positive one. It spoke directly to the resiliency of our community that has experienced so much. It is an honour to serve our community and the residents of Kanata-Carleton. It is a privilege to be your voice at Queen’s Park.”
“In 2018 I made a promise and it is a commitment I make again tonight. I promise to work hard every day for the residents of Kanata and West Carleton.”

Premier Doug Ford was returned to Queen’s Park with a resounding second mandate from Ontarians and an enlarged caucus. Ontario PCs won 83 seats, NDP 31, Liberals 8, Green 1, and an independent. Last evening both the Leaders of the NDP and Liberals resigned. The Liberals failed to win official party status.
